Suspension or Withdrawal of Services policy
This statement was last updated: May 2026.
purpose
This policy outlines how The Water Affect manages the suspension or withdrawal of services to support both participant flexibility and the ongoing sustainability of services.
Policy Statement
The Water Affect is committed to delivering supports in a manner that is safe, respectful, supportive, and appropriate for all participants, families, and staff.
There may be circumstances where The Water Affect is unable to continue providing services, including situations where ongoing support is no longer reasonably practicable or where health, safety, wellbeing, behavioural, operational, or facility-related concerns require services to be suspended or ceased.
Where appropriate and reasonably possible, concerns will first be discussed with the participant, parent, guardian, or authorised representative in an effort to identify suitable solutions and support ongoing participation before any decision is made to suspend or withdraw services.
If The Water Affect determines that supports can no longer continue, participants and/or their representatives will be informed as soon as reasonably practicable.
