purpose
This policy outlines The Water Affect’s commitment to inclusion, participation, and equitable access to aquatic supports for all participants.
Policy Statement
The Water Affect is committed to delivering person-centred, strengths-based, and inclusive aquatic supports that encourage meaningful participation in aquatic, recreational, and community-based environments.

The Water Affect is currently not an NDIS registered provider and delivers services to participants who are self-managed, plan-managed, or privately funded.

The Water Affect recognises that each participant engages with aquatic environments in different ways and therefore provides flexible, individualised, and responsive supports that align with each participant’s goals, strengths, preferences, and support needs.
Participation & Inclusion Principles
The Water Affect ensures that:
-
Participants are supported to engage in sessions in ways that are meaningful, functional, and appropriate to their individual needs
-
Supports are delivered within a calm, structured, and sensory-aware environment
-
Visual supports, adapted teaching strategies, and specialised resources may be used to enhance engagement and understanding
-
Approaches are neuroaffirming and participant-led where appropriate
-
Sessions are designed to build confidence, independence, and functional skill development
-
All participants are treated fairly, respectfully, and without discrimination
