purpose
This policy outlines how The Water Affect manages the hydrotherapy pool requirements to support both participant flexibility and the ongoing sustainability of services.
Policy Statement
To support the safety, hygiene, and wellbeing of all individuals accessing the hydrotherapy facility, participants and families are required to comply with all venue, hospital, and pool operating requirements at all times.

Participants, parents, carers, and support persons are expected to follow the directions and instructions provided by both The Water Affect staff and hydrotherapy facility personnel while attending sessions.

To help maintain a safe and appropriate pool environment, the following conditions apply:

Walking is required at all times within the pool and surrounding wet areas

Food, drinks, and glass items are not permitted within the pool area

Appropriate swimwear must be worn by all pool users

Only the participant enrolled in the scheduled session may enter the pool unless prior arrangements have been made with The Water Affect

Where additional support is required, a parent, carer, or authorised support person may accompany the participant in the water, provided this has been discussed and approved in advance.
Supervision Responsibilities
Participants requiring supervision or assistance outside of their scheduled lesson time must have a parent, guardian, carer, or authorised support person remain on-site and available throughout the duration of the session.

Participants must not be left unattended at the facility at any time. The Water Afect team members are only responsible for supervision during the allocated session period and cannot provide care outside of booked lesson times.

For all participants under 18 years of age, a parent or authorised guardian is required to remain at the facility for the full duration of the session.

All participants and families must continue to adhere to NSW Health public pool hygiene standards and any applicable hospital infection control procedures.

The Water Affect and the hydrotherapy facility reserve the right to adjust, limit, or refuse pool access where necessary to meet safety, hygiene, operational, or facility requirements
